The Twelve Rivers (110 miles) This is a short half day tour taking in some of the Borders most scenic valleys and rivers. Starting from Whitmuir Hall we pass through Selkirk and head west for Eskdalemuir following several of the Borders' and Dumfries and Galloway's picturesque valleys and rivers. We stop at the Samye Ling Buddhist Temple for refreshments and a leg stretch. On now to Langholm then meander over the hills to Newcastleton, a planned village with a long wide street which belies its size and status! The next main town is Jedburgh passing the Jed Water and, if time permits we may have another refreshment stop and leg stretch at Bongate Bikes. The closing part of the tour continues north, crossing the River Teviot, and we make our way back to Whitmuir Hall. Please note that we have much more information, including prices, available on our CD and considerably much more when you make your booking, the above information is just a taster! General Information The theme of all our tours
on Scotland's country roads is for a relaxed and unhurried trip, taking in local scenery and points
of interest. The nature of the roads on our chosen trips does not
encourage "speeding bullets" so we're promoting a sedate, leisurely
introduction to the Borders. The Twelve Rivers can be incorporated into the two day Borders Brace or merged with any of our other half day tours. Prices for individual or joint tours are available on enquiry; accommodation options and costs can also be made available on request, if required. For information on bike/equipment hire and other conditions of the tours, please refer to our Motorcycle Tours home page. Location: Scottish Borders Whitmuir Hall Nr.
