The
Gilmanscleuch Scramble
(minimum age 18)

Duration: Approximately 7
- 9
hours
The day starts
with an introduction to the All Terrain Vehicles, then intense training on
the safe use of an A.T.V. over rough terrain (the Genesis Tracks). After a
free light lunch we load the A.T.V.s on to our transporter and head for
open country.
On arriving at the middle
of nowhere (Gilmanscleuch Farm) we then start our drive up and over
the Ettrick Valley hills, climbing up to a height over 1600 feet! (No roads,
just rough wild country, what a buzz!) We then drop down into the Yarrow
Valley stopping at a local farm/hotel for free refreshments. After a
recharge we scale the summits, negotiate the ridges, then traverse down into
the Ettrick Valley to our starting point at Gilmanscleuch Farm, load up and
return to base at Whitmuir Hall, where a swim/sauna and buffet can await
you. WHAT A
GREAT DAY!
It’s a full day,
(approximately 8 hours) and no other company in the country offers such an
adventure! Although the terrain can be steep and dangerous it is relatively
safe for those trained in the safe and proper handling of an A.T.V. We
always have 2 instructors with each group, with a recovery support vehicle
on 24 hour standby.
